Interview with the Vapor Queen Pip Gresham

Ejuice Magazine Q & A With Vape Icon & Suicide Bunny Creator

Pip Gresham creates more than ejuices; she’s created a unique and engaging brand. Her style of packaging, flavoring and creating a line of ejuices enjoyed by vapers all over has made her into one of vaping’s most noted figures. Her “Suicide Bunny,” line dazzles the eye and at the same time portrays strong and unapologetic glimpses into womanhood and femininity. She’s been in the vape making business for awhile and is determined to create more than a product, but seeks to educate the public on vaping. E-juice Magazine sat down with the busy owner & creator and got a snapshot of what goes into the making of “Suicide Bunny.”

EJuice Magazine: What is a Suicide Bunny?

Pip: Haha!  What a great question.  Suicide comes from Suicide Girls, tattooed females.  Bunny is simply another name for a female.  I felt putting the two together showed both strength and gentleness.

EJuice Magazine: What inspired you to create e-liquids?

Pip: In 2012/2013, my husband was struggling to find liquid that could help him give up cigarettes completely.  I told him that I was determined to find a way to help him.  After months of research, I began my journey in experimenting with flavors.  My husband was absolutely the inspiration that ultimately led to Suicide Bunny.

EJuice Magazine:. How do you develop your flavors?

Pip: It is certainly a process, and a bit different than other liquid makers.  When I create, I see e-liquid as more of an extension of myself and life experiences, than setting out to create a specific profile.  Liquid is art to me.  Once I am inspired I begin the process of the recipe.  All of my recipes have layers.  Vapers will experience different notes on the inhale and exhale.  Once I have chosen the final recipe, my team and I vape the liquid on many different devices, at varying temperatures.  I want to ensure that the recipe will be a wonderful experience for everyone who buys a bottle.

EJuice Magazine: What do you love most about what you do?

Pip: What I love most about my work is the fact that I get to spend my days helping others.  I see vaping as a tool that truly impacts the world in a very positive way.  I love the fact that I have been fortunate enough to meet, and talk to, so many fans.  I get to hear their stories and how vaping has had a positive impact on their lives.  I am the type of person who has to believe my work is helping make the world a better place, or I simply will not do it.  For example, prior to Suicide Bunny I was a counselor at a children’s home, then I taught 2nd grade.  I see vaping as a daily opportunity to change the world.

EJuice Magazine: What were some of the challenges you found with making e-juice?

Pip: Being a vaper myself, I can say my fear of ever disappointing anyone is my greatest challenge in making e-liquid.  I can not stand the thought of someone spending their hard earned money on my products and not liking them.  This is what drives me to spend so much time on recipe development before I release a product.  I don’t think I have EVER actually made any of the flavor deadlines I placed on myself.  I have to make sure that when each bottle leaves our facility it is going to be the very best it can be.

EJuice Magazine: What’s your favorite food and does food influence how you create e-liquids?

Pip: I love sushi and any vegetable under the sun.  I can’t say food influences my recipes.  Although one of my flavors was inspired by a dessert that I love.  In Dallas, my favorite hotel has a seasonal dessert on their menu.  It is a mild lemon custard with a vanilla biscuit.  In the Spring, I always try to stay at this hotel as much as possible to enjoy this treat.  This dessert inspired Sky from my max CG line, Cloud Company.

EJuice Magazine: How would you describe your brand?

Pip: Our motto is Believe In Better– better ingredients, better manufacturing standards, better health, and ultimately a better world.  Suicide Bunny is a brand for everyone.  Each of my lines have profiles that will fulfill the needs of all vapors.  SB is more than just an e-liquid company.  We have created a lifestyle, an experience.  SB is also all about the vaping community.  We have a program to help vapors in need, as well as smokers and individuals new to vaping.  It is truly a brand created out of necessity that exists to provide top quality products to ensure everyone can find success in vaping.

EJuice Magazine: In what ways has vaping impacted your life and those around you?

Pip: Vaping has had a huge impact on my life personally.  After trying every avenue to quit smoking, vaping was the only thing that worked.  The same is true for my husband.  Through my success and experiences with vaping, I have been able to educate smokers.   It is astounding when you stop and consider the trickle down effect from adults making the choice to switch to vaping.  It impacts their children and families.

EJuice Magazine: The Mother’s Milk image has become very recognizable in the vaping community. How did it come about? What was the inspiration behind that particular ejuice?

Pip: Mother’s Milk was inspired by my determination to help my husband quit smoking for good.  It was birthed out of necessity.  This is the liquid that finally helped Scott give up combustibles.  I gave it the name Mother’s Milk, because just as a baby needs Mother’s Milk to sustain life, my husband needed this liquid to sustain his life.  The image is a depiction of myself.

" I always encourage new vapors to experiment with different liquids and devices until they find their perfect fit."

EJuice Magazine: How would describe the ideal way to vape Suicide Bunny ejuices?

Pip: As I stated earlier, we go through rigorous testing with all of my recipes.  Because of this SB can be vaped in virtually and device, at any wattage.  Currently I switch between a dripper and tank, and I vape around 75 watts.

EJuice Magazine: How does safety and being an informed vaper influence what you do?

Pip: Safety and being an informed vapor has everything to do with what I do. From my manufacturing practices to ingredients I use in my liquid, safety is always at the forefront of what we do at suicide bunny.  The FDA has not deemed manufacturing standards yet.  People can still mix e-liquid anywhere, and in anyway that they choose.  But for me, I know the use of a lab and cleanroom are absolutely needed.  Also the way in which e-liquid is mixed has everything to do with it’s consistency and safety.  At Suicide Bunny, we go above and beyond.  We spend money where we do not have to, just to ensure that all of our products are safe and consistent.  I actually have a great video about this on the Suicide Bunny youtube channel, “What is Premium?”

EJuice Magazine:What advice would you give someone who is new to vaping?

Pip: First I would give them a huge hug, and say congratulations on making one of the best, and most important decisions of your life.  I always encourage new vapers to experiment with different liquids and devices until they find their perfect fit.  Finally, I encourage them to find a place to educate themselves and get help when they need it.  If they do not have a good shop near them, I will give them my email and phone number.

EJuice Magazine: What new and upcoming products or lines can Suicide Bunny enthusiasts look forward to?

Pip: Since the FDA deemed that we can no longer create new products (August 8th, 2016), I have been putting all of my efforts in education and connecting with smokers, new vapors, and my amazing community.  I created a new Youtube channel where fans can connect with us, get information, and see what SB is all about.

EJuice Magazine: Can you tell us about King’s Crown and the Cloud Company?

Pip: King’s Crown is the second line I released.  King’s Crown is a complex line, with rich, royal flavor profiles.  King’s was actually inspired by my experiences and journey as an e-liquid maker.  Cloud Company is my max VG line.  All the flavors hold up at high heat, but also vape great out of tanks.  I absolutely love Sky from this line, and Scott’s favorite is Revel.  I also released one last line prior to the FDA’s August 8th cutoff date, The Limiteds.  The Limiteds are all the flavors that I have released seasonally over the years.  People would become very upset when a specific flavor would go out of season, so I decided to make them available all of the time.  Currently everyone on my team is vaping MM and Cookies and Bunny Season as their ADV.
